My Artistic Journey
Today, I am thrilled to share my latest artwork titled "Cosmos on a Pink Table", a vibrant acrylic and collage piece on paper measuring 30" x 22". This particular work not only stands out as the largest piece I have completed to date but also reflects the profound influence of my artistic mentors.
Inspiration of mentors
The development of "Cosmos on a Pink Table" stemmed from an enriching workshop led by the talented Pam Soileau and Susan Giannantonio at Watercolor Art Society-Houston. They taught techniques that allowed me to explore new dimensions within my art. The vase in my piece originated from a paper marbling workshop taught by Heather den Uijl at Art Supply on Almeda. The blending of these workshops into my work signifies not just a physical representation but an emotional connection with the talented artists who have profoundly influenced my artistic journey.
The Essence of the Artwork
"Cosmos on a Pink Table" intricately combines vibrant colors, textures, and dimensions that evoke a sense of otherworldliness. In my exploration of acrylics and collage, the colors harmoniously collide, resonating with the delicate balance between chaos and tranquility often found in nature. The use of the marbled vase adds a layer of depth, reminding viewers of the organic aspects of artistic creation. This piece exemplifies not only my growth as an artist but also pays homage to my instructors, who embody the essence of kindness and support in their mentorship.
Creating this artwork has been a journey worth sharing. It underscores the exploration of styles and techniques that lead to personal growth in the creative process. Art is more than just a visual statement; it engages the viewer to reflect and envision deeper meanings, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. As I continue to evolve in my art, I am eager to push boundaries and embrace the unknown, potentially leading to even larger and more impactful works in the future.
